Committee Chairperson
Emma Courtney
Hi there, I’m Emma and have lived in Hanslope since 2013. I run a consultancy that operates Nationally and Internationally and specializes in research, evaluation, marketing and strategy for the arts and heritage and voluntary sectors. A significant part of this work involves children and young people and it’s been a bit terrifying to see how creativity and the arts in education has been eroded from the curriculum over the last decade. I’m also the Vice Chair of the Arts & Heritage Alliance in Milton Keynes. AHA-MK leads and manages MAKE, the Milton Keynes Cultural Education Partnership so everyday I see firsthand how creative activities empower and enable our young people to develop and thrive.
With such significant changes in the village over recent years through large scale development, a community asset and charity like Hanslope Preschool has never been more important. The early years children of Hanslope deserve to have the best start in their learning journeys. They deserve a setting that inspires them and gives them the belief, curiosity and courage to realise their potential at every stage of their lives. I sit on the committee to help in any way I can towards that goal. If you’d like to help contribute to this goal in any way please don’t hesitate to get in touch. We’re a friendly bunch and welcome everyone who wants Hanslope Preschool to be the best that it can be!

Hi, I'm Claire and I moved to the village just over three years ago along with my husband and two boys.

Before having my boys, I grew up in MK and studied for my degree in Criminology and Social Policy at the University of Sheffield. I then spent some time travelling around Australia and New Zealand doing some crazy things like sky diving, bungee jumping and night kayaking. I then returned to MK and started working in the public sector and am still working there today.
Having grown up with my mum working in a preschool I'm aware of the hard work involved as well as the love and passion in the profession and want to try and support the staff, children and parents for the preschool to continue to grow and develop.

Hi, I’m Laura. I’ve lived in the village for four years with my husband and our two sons. Both of my children have attended the preschool, with my youngest due to start school this September.
Both of my boys have loved their time at the preschool, and I’ve seen first-hand how important it is to them and the other children.
The staff are incredibly friendly, kind and caring, and my youngest has made some wonderful friendships with them all.
I am happy to be a part of the preschool committee and to support the wonderful work the staff do for our children.
I look forward to helping ensure it continues to be a great place for our children and families.

Hi I’m Livvi,
Me and my husband grew up in the village and now have a little girl who has just started her journey at Hanslope pre-school.
After a tricky transition, my little one has now settled into the setting, and it is only because of the fantastic work the team have done that this has happened.
Throughout the transition and living in the village I can see the amazing work the team do and how invaluable the pre-school setting is to Hanslope.
Having 6 year's experience in education recruitment I hope this can help me as part of the committee to best support the setting.
We are now excited to follow our little girls journey as well as support the amazing team as a committee member.

Hi, I'm Lizzie,
My husband and I have lived in Hanslope for the past six years with our two daughters and our dog. Our eldest daughter has loved her time at Hanslope Pre-school and, as she gets ready to start school, we're excited that our youngest daughter will soon be beginning her own preschool journey.

I have been a primary school teacher for 14 years, teaching children from Early Years through to Year 6 across Milton Keynes. Seeing how important those early years are in shaping children's confidence, curiosity and love of learning has given me a real appreciation for the incredible work the preschool team does.
I'm delighted to join the committee and hope that both my experience in education and my perspective as a parent will help support the preschool as it continues to thrive for the children and families of our village.
