Welcome to Hanslope Pre-school

Learning to play. Playing to learn.

Our aim

At Hanslope Pre-school, we aim for the children to be confident and happy learners... but most importantly, have fun. Our staff has designed a curriculum that sets out what we want children to learn during their time at Pre-school. This is delivered through a mixture of adult-led and child-led experiences both indoors and outdoors.  The well-thought-out environment ensures children are engaged in play and learning whilst developing their independence skills.  The curriculum supports children to grow and develop ready for their next stage in learning.

Our Curriculum at Hanslope Pre-school

  • Be confident talkers so they can build relationships with their friends and adults around them.

  • To be able to do things for themselves, such as taking themselves to the toilet and washing their hands, and dressing themselves.

  • To be able to listen to and follow simple instructions such as daily routines and Pre-school rules.

  • For children to develop a love of the outdoors, to know how to plant fruit and vegetables and care for the natural environment.

  • To be able to express their emotions and understand others' emotions, also showing care and kindness to others.

  • To be able to join in group activities knowing how to take turns and cooperate.

  • To understand they live in a diverse world and celebrate their similarities and differences.

  • To be able to creatively express themselves using various materials both indoors and out.

Our practice and planning is underpinned by the Early Years Foundation Stage.
